About the Sun
Sunny & started the way most good things in Miami start: a group chat, a recommendation, and somebody saying “okay but why does nobody write about this?”
the story
We are a small crew of Miami friends who kept sending each other the same links: the taqueria that deserves a line around the block, the lamp that fixes a whole room, the breathing trick that actually works before a hard conversation. The group chat got so good it started to feel selfish.
So we made it a magazine. Sunny & covers wellness, design, fashion, love, pets, and food with one rule: everything we publish should leave you a little lighter than it found you. That does not mean we avoid real talk. It means we skip the doom, the shame, and the trend pieces designed to make you feel behind.
You are not behind. You are right on time. Welcome to the sunny side.
We believe
- Feeling good is not a luxury, it is a strategy
- Cute things are a legitimate form of self care
- Advice should feel like a friend, not a lecture
- Every pet is the best pet (this is science)
- The five dollar lunch can beat the tasting menu
- It is never too late to become who you were meant to be
Meet the crew
the masthead, but make it fun

Paola Mendez
Wellness & Love
Certified hypnotherapist, yoga teacher, and recovering software developer. Trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) by Marisa Peer, Princess Diana’s personal hypnotherapist. Founder of Pao Hypnosis and the Mochi Zen app. Answers your letters in Sunny & Love and tests every wellness claim on herself first.

Andrea
Design, Fashion & Pets
Our resident maximalist. If it is a color, a novelty purse, or a very good dog, Andrea has an opinion about it, and she is right. She covers homes, objects, personal style, and the pets who run all of our lives. Yes, her bag is a strawberry. No, you cannot have it.
Patty
Food
Patty orders for the table and everyone is grateful. She covers the neighborhood gems, the family recipes, the ventanitas, and the question that unites all of Miami: okay, but where should we actually eat? Trust her. She has never once led us astray.
Sebastian
Vintage & Thrift
Thrift store owner and professional treasure hunter. Sebastian knows which rack hides the gem and which “mid century” find is just a chair from 2019. He writes about secondhand style, vintage decor, and the thrill of the five dollar score.
Write for us
Know a hidden gem? Have a story that would make someone’s day better? We love pitches from new voices, especially local ones. Keep it short: who you are, the idea in two sentences, and why Sunny & readers will love it.
